Genesis Prize Marketing Book
Project: Marketing book design for the Genesis Prize foundation
Scope: Design and print a high-quality marketing book with a structured message
Skills Demonstrated: High-end book design
Details: The Genesis Prize (GP) is a major non-profit organization that awards a yearly one-million-dollar prize to activists that do good in the world. The prize is then awarded to a charitable organization or program of the winner’s choice in order to further causes that are important to them. Unfortunately this great award had almost no marketing collateral that spoke to their purpose and high-profile nature of their award, laureates, and ceremony. We needed to create a book to leave behind with potential award recipients, donors, or other stakeholders to showcase the GP and all the good that they do and what they stand for.
Additional Credits: Book created alongside the other brilliant people at Advantages including a production manager.
Design: This design was particularly challenging, as we needed to create something that would not limit the growth of their budding, minimalist brand (that they were not quite ready to evolve yet), but would provide a modern and unique design that compliments what did exist of their brand. After experimenting with a few different designs, this abstract style really hit home for the GP. It provided movement, a complimentary color to their blue gradient, and sleek typography that really upscaled the look of the book. We organized the book into sections—about the GP, past award winners and their accomplishments, the Ceremony, and the causes that the award money impacted.
